Beautiful boot with a very high quality, fine shearling lining. Would be perfect to wear with or without socks.
I have a narrow foot and these were too narrow in the forefoot. My foot felt like it was being compressed. Sadly had to return!
They are gorgeous though so you might as well order and try since shipping is free!

These are pretty great boots. I thought the size was fine. I like the height of the shaft and the heel.

These are gorgeous winter boots, and would have been perfect, but the right boot felt about 1/2 size larger than the left one and my foot slid around inside. Sadly, had to return and there were no more available in my size. Zappo’s was terrific about the return, as always.

La Canadienne makes wonderful boots. I had another pair a few years ago, and absolutely loved them – these are no different. They are very true to size, although the arch support is really non-existent. I got a separate pair of insoles for that. However, the lining is super cozy and the styling is great.
One note: The top of the boot is actually somewhat narrow, so if you’re thinking of wearing straight legs tucked into your boot these aren’t for you.

The Hunter boot is gorgeous! The black suede is sumptuous, and the little tab at the top of the boot is just the right amount of bling, for me at least. But I had to return them. The right boot was fine, but the left irritated the outside edge of my foot , near the pinkie toe. I can’t figure out why, because when I ran my fingers over the spot on the inside of the boot, I couldn’t feel anything. I’ve had two pairs of fleece lined La Canadienne boots in the past, that I wore to death. Loved them, but this pair just doesn’t work for me.

So sorry that I will be returning these. First, the front of the shoe is narrow. It was snug but not uncomfortable. I would have endured that if it weren’t for the loud squeak they make. I walked across linoleum and wood floors and they squeak like wet sneakers on tile floor. It was horrible. I love this brand, but I am disappointed in this particular shoe. For the price, I expect more.

I tried/compared 4 La Canadienne boots, all in black size 10: Heidi, Charlotte, Hermione, Hunter. (I also already own Savanna — pointier toe therefore dressier, and Carolina — if my size was available in black I wouldn’t have the need to try these others.)
Heidi — gorgeous with luscious real fur, but the back lace is only for deco and doesn’t go up to the top so the top tends to be too wide and a bit floppy.
Charlotte — attractive “biker” boot, but a bit too casual for my needs, and didn’t like the pull-on, prefer a side zip.
Hermione — lovely, “tough” boot, perfect shaft height, but still a bit too casual and “clunky.”
Hunter — the WINNER !! Real shearling for warmth/softness, I would only have preferred it in coordinating black, as one reviewer pointed out you can see just a bit of the fur above the top of boot when wearing with leggings, etc. Perfect height, quite ladylike without being fussy yet tough enough to not look prissy. Another reviewer mentioned a loud squeak — this will go away after your first real walk outside.
As for fit, I wear size 10 usually, all these fit beautifully in size 10. I generally prefer a bit of toe room/width but have a narrow heel and all these fit fine.
La Canadienne boots are the best I’ve ever owned, rugged, warm, comfortable, waterproof. Win, win, win. And thank you Zappos for the easy ordering/shipping/returns !!!

Very pretty and supper cozy, these boots will keep your feet warm while still being stylish. Being waterproof makes them perfect for any cold day even when raining or snowing.

I wanted to love these gorgeous boots! They are so beautiful and classy, and elegant. Unfortunately, my ankle bone felt a rub on just one of my feet and I had to return them. I will try this brand again for they are the finest boot I’ve ever seen.

These felt narrower than a medium width, but my feet felt comfortably supported. I usually buy boots in suede with this brand, it’s a more forgiving material.

These were great this winter! Warm, great traction with the soles, and they looked good. They run narrow and with the shearing lining they might feel tight the first time. I use my silk liner socks that I use for hiking. Any thin sock will do. My feet still stay comfy warm. I didn’t slip and slide once this winter wearing these boots. I felt they had good ankle support.

This is a beautiful boot. Ordering my shoe size it feels a bit snug in width and I don’t think I could wear socks with it but this would probably change as the shearling gets mashed down a bit in wear. I haven’t worn them yet, just a bit around the house to try them out but the squeak people talk about is impressive! I have no doubts the squeak will go away quickly as it got quieter just in the short time I have worn them in the house to try them out.

If you have problems with your feet, the La Canadienne Hunter may not work for you. I have severe bunions on both feet, two hammer toes on my right foot, and a cross-over toe on my left. When I put this boot on my right foot it cried in pain. It did not work with my hammer toes. They are beautiful boots but I had to return them.

Very well made and nice looking boot. A little more clunky than expected. Right foot was a tad tight.

great boot, true to size has natural shearling

Cozy, cute ad comfy. Anywhere, any occasion. Punk or classic. Wear with dresses, skinnies or wide leg. A+. So yeah, I like these. Don’t hesitate to give them a try.

Great. Super cozy.

I wish these fit my wider toe box but my left foot nerve between my toe bones gets slightly irritated when I walk. Sad. I love these boots.
Ann –
I ordered a half size larger because I like to wear socks with boots in Winter. These boots fit very comfortably with socks.
Lovely –
Beautiful boot. Well constructed. Sadly it was very difficult for me to insert my foot into to the boot. Very snug fit. I normally take a 7 1/2 M in La Canadienne boots so this was a surprise. returning for next larger size & keeping my fingers crossed it will be a good fit.

This boot feels great right out of the box. I am replacing a very similar boot from 10 years ago and am so so happy this ‘foots’ the bill! This boot is a prettier and much more stylish boot than my previous.
FYI I am a 7 to 7 1/2, and 7 1/2 fit perfect.

Awesome, beautiful boot! I would have preferred a size 10, but, considering the demand, I was fortunate to obtain the 9 1/2. Fits fine, except I usually purchase larger to accommodate winter socks.

Super soft inside, sturdy and comfortable, city-ready. I know this brand generally runs too narrow for me and that was true with this shoe as well. Too bad, because they seem really nice and warm.

For the price of these boots, I expect them to be absolute perfection, and they were not. I love the look and overall feel, but there is not enough arch support nor shock absorption at the ball of the foot. If you don’t need those things you’ll probably love them. I know over time the sheepskin lining will compress at the foot but then there will be less support to go along with that. At this price they need to be a 10 and they were only a 7 for me. At half the price I would have kept them but I feel there are other choices out there for less money that give me the same feel.
