I love the style of these shoes and I have other La Canadienne styles. Unfortunately, the leather felt stiff like it will require a break-in period that I’d rather not have. The shoes also made a creaky noise when I walked. I have narrow heels and the heels did fit fine, but they came up high against the backs of my ankles which felt uncomfortable. I wish they would have worked for me, but I’m returning them.

The size was the correct one for me, having worn LaCanadienne shoes and boots for many years. Unfortunately, the back of the shoe is too high and uncomfortable against my ankles. Also, as noted by another reviewer, the leather was very squeaky and not supple. I don’t think it’s a matter of breaking them in, unfortunately. I love the look and style, but sadly I am returning them.
