38.5 was too large. I’m a us 7.5. I had previously purchased a 7.5 at Bloomingdale’s at 25%off but it was too small. When I returned them they did not have a 38, neither did Zappos, so I purchased the 38.5, which turned out to be too large. 38 or size 8 was the size I needed. I exchanged with Zappos!who by then also had a 38. And then voila! Bloomies had them back in stock in my size at 25% off. I asked Zappos for a price adjustment. They refused. So Zappos will be getting the 8s back as well. 0 stars for Zappos customer service. 5 stars for these beautiful waterproof boots.

Love these boots! Great color! Love the gray. Fits like a glove. Wraps around my calf and foot with no gaps! Beautiful suede. Would definitely buy again-

I vacillated about keeping these boots. I am a La Canadienne fan (thank you, La Canadienne). The style and workmanship are above reproach. I got the grey “suede.” Just be aware that the shaft is synthetic material, NOT suede, as advertised. That said, they are wonderfully soft, great quality although not suede (the footbed is suede). They are narrower than other La Canadienne boots that I have. Here’s the clincher about why I decided to keep them: they just look so darned good! They are tall and slimming, just a dynamite look. I am normally an 8.5 in La Canadienne, as with these. But there is no extra room for socks, so I will be wearing them either with tights, or very thin socks. I wouldn’t have wanted to pay full price, since they are not all suede, but I was happy with the sale price that I snagged. Bit of a mixed review, but at the end of the day, I’m pleased. La Canadienne footwear is quality you won’t regret investing in.
